Teaching Progressive Coding in Preschool and Pre-K

At My Place, we make technology time part of our regular curriculum for preschoolers and Pre-K students. Progressive coding helps build critical skills to prepare your child to tackle future school subjects like geometry, statistics, and physics.

Young children learn best with fun, hands-on activities. We teach our students progressive coding skills through educational games. We love to watch them use teamwork to complete each activity, and have fun at the same time. Their excitement shows us how easily they connect to the concepts of progressive coding.

My Place’s qualified teachers keep students engaged with age-appropriate progressive coding games.

Progressive coding examples for children

These are some of the fun ways we build progressive coding into our early childhood education:

• Root, a robot that drives and moves according to drawn and erased lines • Fisher-Price® Think & Learn Code-a-pillar Twist™, a preschooler-friendly toy that lets kids program a route for the caterpillar • Qobo, a robot that moves and sings according to puzzle cards recognized by a reader underneath the robot • Ozobot, which can be programmed to follow patterns on a surface.
