Thanksgiving season is here, a time filled with warmth, family, and connection. At My Place Early Learning Center, this month gives us the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate the spirit of gratitude with our children, families, and staff.
Though our little learners are still growing and discovering the world, they are never too young to practice simple acts of appreciation. In fact, early childhood is one of the best times to help children build a foundation of kindness, empathy, and thankfulness. Here’s how we’re bringing Thanksgiving to life throughout our classrooms.
Hands-On Harvest Learning
November is full of rich, sensory learning experiences. Our toddlers and preschoolers dive into harvest-themed activities, from exploring real corn husks and stamping apple prints, to sorting fall colors and cooking pretend “harvest soup.” These activities let children touch, feel, taste, and explore the foods we often enjoy during Thanksgiving.
Not only do these experiences spark curiosity, but they also help children connect the foods on their plate to farms, gardens, and nature’s seasonal gifts.

Building a Community of Gratitude
At My Place, we believe that a strong early learning experience is built on partnership, with families, children, and our dedicated staff. Thanksgiving reminds us of how grateful we are for:
The trust families place in us every day
The educators who show up with love, patience, and passion
The children who fill our halls with laughter, curiosity, and joy
This season, we are especially thankful for the growing community we continue to build together. Your support helps us create meaningful learning experiences and a warm environment where children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to thrive.
