MY PLACE FOUNDATIONS OF LEARNING
MY PLACE DIFFERENCE

Elementary School Readiness
Build our students' confidence and desire to learn

Social Emotional Learning
We assist our students with understanding and managing emotions

Age Appropriate
Tailored curriculum that is developmentally appropriate to engage and challenge your child
STEAM-BASED CURRICULUM

STEAM is an acronym that stands for:
Science,
Technology,
Engineering,
Art, and
Mathematics.
Our STEAM-based curriculum explores all concepts through picture and nonfiction books, hands-on activities, and project-based learning. We are teaching our students that science is a way of thinking through observation, asking questions and experiments.
My Place's STEAM-based activities help our learners become better problem solvers, innovators, and logical thinkers. Our qualified teachers keep students engaged and excited through educational games, progressive art, and age-appropriate engineering projects.
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
Project-based learning stimulates learners in hands-on activities that allows them to build their own knowledge and develop tangible products. It provides our learners the opportunity to connect the activities they do at My Place with the world around them. My Place encourages students to ask questions and find solutions by collaborating with their peers.

Communication

Sharing
We send out a theme-based My Place family craft activity so we can share with our family

Technology Integration
We program our robot to repeat our themed-based vocabulary words

CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS

Dramatic Play
Children are inspired to communicate their wishes to their peers and, therefore, it’s useful to learn to speak from the perspective of pretend roles.
My Place takes advantage of this time to explore social and emotional learning, self-regulation, and conflict resolution. Our dramatic play activities go beyond social skills - we work on fine motor skills too! Our "bakers" will knead play-dough to make bread or cookies, and our "teachers" will write today's lesson on the board.

Progressive Coding
Studies show that progressive coding teaches skills for future success. It helps strengthen skills in math, reading, spelling, and problem-solving.
We believe that technology is a learning tool. My Place's unique progressive coding program introduces fundamentals of coding: learners develop patterns using colors, tiles, and figures to program their technology.

Creative Arts
Being able to differentiate between colors is important for children to learn, as it’s related to STEAM concepts.
My Place creative art activities are much more than just creating crafts! We provide our artists an outlet for self-expression and creativity. My Place students can communicate their emotions through colors and media while depicting their experiences. Our educators engage students in conversation by asking theme-based open-ended questions.

SIGN LANGUAGE & SPANISH LESSONS
It's a wonderful time to introduce Sign language and Spanish to our young learners.
We start language classes as early as our infant program. During circle time we explore new words through music and movement, reading books, culinary class, and group discussions.
